About

Kherad is an independent research programme building a transparent mind that learns the way a life does: earning what it knows through consequence, rather than ingesting what has already been written. It is not a product and makes no claim to be one yet — it is a research instrument, bootstrapped, with every result kept on the record.

The name

Kherad (خرد) is Persian for wisdom — specifically the kind gained through time and lived experience, not the kind that is simply told to you. It is the right name for a mind meant to earn what it knows rather than inherit it.

Who is building it

Nima Nikroo is building and running Kherad under NthCraft LLC, bootstrapped without outside funding. No lab, no team, no PhD — a discipline borrowed from good science instead: preregister the bet, keep the negatives, and never claim more than the record supports.

Nima's background is in systems design rather than machine learning — trained at SCI-Arc, with a career in technical production for large-scale, high-stakes architecture. That shows up here as a bias toward rigour over cleverness: a system either holds up under real constraints or it does not, and the discipline of preregistration and kept negatives is the same discipline that keeps a building standing. Kherad asks whether the same standard can be applied to growing a mind.
